watercolors
these brown eyes
have seen a lot of things
sometimes my thoughts turn into
watercolor paintings
there are things I wish I could erase
‘cause in art we make mistakes,
but our paint is there to stay
I feel so much older than I am, ‘cause
I’ve seen things that nobody my age would understand
and I could break into a cold sweat,
when I see the silhouettes,
of the stains in paintings I wish I could forget
in life
I’ve only just begun my sketch
it’s not time
to fill in all the colors yet
and there’s fine lines
between a piece of art and just a mess, and
I’m not sure how to paint yet
people think I’m braver than I am
darker lines disguise my pictures
for that of a strong man
but one time I heard all the angels sing
when I lost the most beautiful color
in my painting
and in your eyes, I sense an innocence
something you would guess I had
when talking in the past tense
by the time we all reach the end,
will our colors transcend
to a watercolor blend? ‘cause
in life
I’ve only just begun my sketch
it’s not time
to fill in all the colors yet
and there’s fine lines
between a piece of art and just a mess
and I’m not sure how to paint yet
I’m not sure how to paint yet
I’m not sure how to paint yet
these brown eyes have seen a lot of things
sometimes my thoughts turn into
watercolor paintings
watercolor paintings
right hand
it’s intermission
and I just want to crawl inside the screen
just like the movies
I’d let you do anything to me
beautiful lady,
I wish that I was rocking you to sleep
my pretty baby,
I miss you like my right hand
lights, camera, action
the credits are a long ways away
my main attraction,
I want to rewind, rewind, rewind, rewind, rewind
beautiful lady,
I wish that I was rocking you to sleep
my pretty baby,
I miss you like my right hand (x2)
I wanted the car ride
driving with my
hand on your thigh
isn’t it funny?
we both have office jobs
threaten to quit a lot
can’t get out of bed in the morning
driving with you, ‘cause
you need some company
and I need company too
said I could stay
at home and wait, but we
kiss at the red lights, and
I wanted the car ride with you
savor the stop signs
I wanted the car ride
happy as hell
in your poetry shelf
reading the sad ones
let’s turn the music off
I’ll listen to you talk
and quit our office jobs
some things never get old,
playing catch as adults
oh and we
kiss at the red lights, and
I wanted the car ride with you
savor the stop signs
I wanted the car ride
kiss at the red lights, and
I wanted the car ride with you
savor the stop signs
I wanted the car ride
some things never get old,
we’re playing catch as adults
